P4P Galleries

PassionforPixels has a variety of galleries – each serving a specific purpose.

Please note the maximum dimensions and resolutions that apply to each. These are provided in this section of the forum as “Photo Size and Resolution”.

Critique Galleries

Photo Critiques

This is our most active gallery. This is where you should upload images for which you want constructive criticism. “Photo Critiques" has two [2] albums and a REWORKED IMAGES album. [Always upload critique images to Album 1.]

Reworked Images
This is an unusual gallery in that members are allowed to download "another member’s image*, where they believe they can demonstrate how that image can be improved through image editing techniques. It might just be a simple crop required or something more complex. Once the image editing is completed, the re-worked image is then uploaded to the Reworked Gallery and you should copy the original image to the reworked gallery as well, just prior or after uploading the reworked image so they sit side by side each other for comparison.

Members undertaking reworks are required to include information about what they have done to the reworked image to help that member improve their skills and assist other members who might be interested in also learning those editing skills as well.

Once the number of images in Album 1 exceeds 81, excess images are moved on to Album 2. Similarly, when the number of images exceeds 81 in Album 2 they are moved on to Archives. [This system ensures that images remain highly visible for several days so that those who log-on infrequently can still view current work.]

  • Add an explanation in their ‘Owner’s Comments’ of the rework about what they did, and why, so as to help less experienced image editors understand the process undertaken.
  • Add a copy of the original image to the Reworked Gallery so that the two images [hopefully] sit side by side. To copy an image, click on its thumbnail. When the image fully opens, you will see ‘Copy to Reworked Album’ up on the top right hand side of the monitor. Click this and then the word ‘Copy’.
  • Advise the owner of the original image that you have done a rework by adding a comment to that image in its original album.

Panoramas

  • This gallery is especially for large panoramas to cater for members with an interest in this area of photography.

Other Galleries – not specifically for critique

Projects

  • Each month we usually have one or more projects, which are based on either photographic or image editing themes. They are simply exercises to enable you to show/develop your skills.

Just for Fun

  • This gallery is where members place humorous or off-beat images – not intended for critical assessment. Let good taste be your guide.

Rogues’ Gallery

  • This gallery reserved for images of those members who wish to identify themselves.Archives
  • Most images uploaded to PassionforPixels are eventually stored in our Archives for reference. They can be viewed by members at all times.
